Leadership: Provide leadership of the Maintenance team; high level of presence in Maintenance activities; sets the example for integrity and priorities; utilizes Mindset & Behaviors tools and principles to drive behaviors; accepts responsibility for results. Drives change, including Maintenance Process Improvement (MPI).
EHS Excellence: Set high standards for plant safety; places health and safety of team above all other priorities; holding self and team accountable for leading their own contributions towards the plant’s EHS results; active participant in performing safety contacts while encouraging CHAMPS participation within the Maintenance team; responsible for PSM/Process Safety for Wyandotte Dispersions & Resins in the area of PM completions; expects and demands the highest standards for Safety performance from Maintenance personnel.
Customer Satisfaction: Ensures that Operational needs drive Maintenance priorities; recognizes and rewards Operations focus of the team; work closely with Operations Director, Process Technology Manager, Production Team Lead and others to improve Asset Effectiveness; supports improvements that drive FTQ; oversees comprehensive reliability program, including bad actors and RCAs.
Cost Effectiveness: Responsible for Maintenance Budget; creates a culture of Continuous Improvement; seeks ways to reduce cost without compromising safety or reliability; understands cost drivers; supports development of projects to drive down CoPQ; maintains excellent relationships with Wyandotte site Engineering in support of Asset Integrity; monitors Maintenance spending and takes action as necessary; analyze and maintain Maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Backlog & Overdue PMs.
Team Development: Priority on skill development for Maintenance personnel; implements “Best Team” concept by challenging and motivating team to meet stretch targets; holds individuals and teams accountable for results; provides coaching for development of employees both inside and outside of immediate team; always “hires up” for improvement of team as team composition changes; provides career and development goals for direct reports.

BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 8 years or more of overall experience or more than 10 years of maintenance supervisory experience.
Demonstrated leadership and change management experience, including peer influencing and culture change; Developed organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
Highly motivated and works independently with general supervision
Experience with asset reliability and maintenance work process
Working knowledge of SAP maintenance transaction codes
BASF & International Engineering Standards
Root Cause Analysis
Risk-Based Maintenance Concepts
Maintenance Process Improvements (MPI) & associated KPIs
Knowledge of OSHA/EPA/MIOSHA/DEQ regulation and requirements
Prior maintenance experience in a PSM/RMP environment is a plus.
