Objectives of the Position

Based on Defined Account Strategy, execute the sales process and the sales specific implementation of the business unit strategy at the customer interface. Develop lasting customer relationships to identify business trends in and beyond the customer scope while enabling cross-business collaboration and synergies to maximize BASF value.

Main Tasks:

  • Achieve the budgeted top-line and bottom-line target for assigned product lines.
  • Develop and implement local business concepts in line with regional and global SBU strategy to achieve long-term objectives.
  • Be accountable and responsible for pricing (execution) and financials for the assigned account.
  • Act as country coordinator for GKA for India operations & support the GKAM with consolidated brief on market & customer.
  • Manage existing business relationships, adjust price policy in line with regional / global guidelines, follow up account receivable, provide sales & manufacturing forecast and act for maintaining optimum warehouse stock levels.
  • Explore new business opportunities, develop new accounts, initiate and evaluate various business models and partners.
  • Ensure consistent communication to the market, improve market intelligence & expertise (e.g. market surveys, segmentation, competitor analysis), monitor competitor activities and track market trends.
  • Support key account management and proactively participate in relevant Industrial Target groups wherever applicable.
  • Identify customers’ technical needs and coordinate with BASF’s technical teams to meet those needs. Also actively get involved into trouble shooting activities.
  • Design and implement distribution management concepts
  • Develop lasting customer relationships to identify business trends in and beyond the customer scope or respective portfolio.
  • Apply the overall sales process, aiming to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Provide accurate sales forecast supporting efficient planning of products and services
  • Negotiate and close deals or contacts with customers and provide operational guidance and support to relevant functional departments to ensure implementations
  • Conduct customer specific concepts and strategies and align them with marketing and management
  • Facilitate and influence X-BU information exchange, identify growth potential by customer across Bus, creating value adding product/solution packages, leveraging to a maximum BASF product usage.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position:

  • Education: Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical) or BSC/MSC (Chemistry) + Post graduations in business management
  • Working Experience (min required exp.): 4- 8 years
  • Knowledge of relevant industry, products is highly preferable & Professional Knowledge
