Objectives of the Position

  • Meet Year on Year Budgeted Sales Targets for assigned region / customer base / segment
  • Develop Strong Opportunity Pipeline
  • Build relations and liaise with Process Licensors, EPCs / PMCs and LSTK contractors.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities

  • Develop lasting customer relationships.
  • Identify industry / market trends not only for the respective portfolio but also white spaces.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Identify customer requirements and collaborate with the local and global teams to offer solutions (service packages) accordingly.
  • Negotiate and close deals or contracts with customers.
  • Provide operational guidance and support to the relevant functional departments for effective execution of customer commitments
  • Contribute to building and implementing strategic sales plans that expands customer base and ensures competitive advantage and sustainable business.
  • Identify and develop new customers, new applications leading to profitable future business.
  • Continuously add to market intelligence and update customer and competitor databases in the CRM.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate key account strategy wherever applicable.
  • Influence decision-makers in a complex environment within and outside BASF on all levels, and drive actions/decisions even without disciplinary responsibility.
  • Conduct special projects to generate more business with certain region or segment focus.
  • Provide close to accurate sales forecast, supporting efficient planning of production and services.
  • Closely collaborate with supply chain and logistics team for order execution.
  • Manage Channel Sales Partners, strategic business partners for effective business development in respective areas.
  • Seek customer feedback.
  • Keep necessary CRM systems and other databases updated.

Technical Account Management

  • Develop understanding on our products, application at customers, strengths and weaknesses to craft powerful value propositions.
  • Develop and manage related product/process risks and liabilities
  • Develop deep and trusting customer relationships that ensure access to growth opportunities.
  • Provide basic level of technical service including troubleshooting advice to the customers in India

Job Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor / Masters in Chemical or Master in Business Administration preferred
  • Working Experience - Min 5 - 10 years in Sales of Catalysts or Technical sales to the chemical industry
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge - Knowledge of key petrochemical value chains and catalytic processes will be added advantage.
  • Understanding of basic catalytic operations.
