During your three- to six-month internship with the Geospatial Software Development team at xarvio Digital Farming, you work on cutting-edge geospatial technologies that support digital agriculture solutions used globally.
- You contribute to the development of Python-based tools and services for processing and managing geospatial data.
- In addition, you learn how we use the SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog (STAC) standard to organise and access satellite and drone imagery efficiently.
- You support the development of simple microservices and APIs that deliver geodata insights to internal and external users.
- Furthermore, you collaborate with software developers and geodata experts to understand how various datasets (e.g. satellite, weather and field boundaries) are integrated into our platforms.
- Last but not least, you assist in the documentation, testing and deployment of software tools and services in cloud-native environments.
- enrolled student in computer science, geoinformatics, data science or a related field
- strong knowledge of Python programming and familiarity with Git for version control and collaboration on shared codebases
- experience with cloud-based development environments (e.g. AWS, Azure or similar)
- expertise with geospatial Python libraries (e.g. GDAL, Rasterio, GeoPandas) is an advantage
- good communication skills in English
