Managing global ecotoxicology oversight and maintenance of crop protection active ingredients
Participating as the ecotoxicology representative on global active ingredient teams, providing the team with guidance on data needs, safe uses and stewardship recommendations.
Monitoring of ecotoxicology studies with aquatic organisms conducted in North America and Europe.
Participating in and leading industry association committees, work groups and task forces on topics relevant to ecotoxicology.
Attending seminars, training courses and professional association meetings to maintain up-to-date knowledge of international regulatory ecotoxicology requirements and risk assessment paradigms, especially related to aquatic organism ecotoxicology
If you have...
Ph.D. in Toxicology, Environmental Toxicology, Environmental Sciences, or other relevant field of study with at least 5-10 years of relevant post-doctoral and/or industry and/or regulatory authority experience with testing and risk assessment of crop protection products
Previous experience leading the development of ecotoxicology data packages to support the registration of crop protection active ingredients both inside North America and in other regions (e.g. Europe)
Previous experience with pesticides, preferred.
Experience in designing, monitoring, and interpreting ecotoxicology studies with aquatic organisms, including higher-tier studies and innovative new design
In-depth knowledge of ecological risk assessment paradigms for aquatic species, with a strong focus on regulatory frameworks in North America and Europe. Experience developing exposure mitigation strategies for threatened and endangered species and overseeing the preparation of European ecotoxicology dossiers, particularly for aquatic organisms, is strongly preferred.
Excellent ability to present scientific data and negotiate study requirements, especially with regulatory authorities across multiple regions
Experience with mentoring junior ecotoxicology scientists and leading (i.e., Chairmanship) association committees, work groups and task forces
Ability to travel up to 10%, domestically and internationally
