As a Senior Intellectual Property Paralegal, you create chemistry by...

  • Preparing and filing U.S., PCT, and foreign patent applications, including responses to office actions, restriction requirements, formalities, and Information Disclosure Statements; ensuring cited art is cross-referenced across applications.
  • Maintaining IP databases by establishing and updating records for patents, contracts, and other matters; running and analyzing dockets and other reports.
  • Conducting intellectual property legal research and supporting the drafting of IP-related agreements and maintaining accurate agreement records.
  • Coordinating and communicating with global IP colleagues and US and foreign counsel to manage filings and ensure alignment on IP-related matters. Externally, you will interact with providers and foreign consulates to secure legalization and other formalities.
  • Delivering training on IP database usage and workflow processes to internal stakeholders, while acting as liaison among IP, Legal, business, R&D, and external partners.
  • Providing administrative support by scheduling meetings, managing USPTO accounts, preparing reports and presentations, and assisting with billing and RFP processes.

If you...

  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Possess a paralegal certification, ideally from an ABA-accredited program.
  • Bring 13+ years of experience in an intellectual property / legal paralegal role, with proven ability to manage complex IP portfolios, legal documentation and direct experience drafting and filing with the USPTO.
  • Demonstrate expertise with intellectual property docketing systems, preferably Anaqua.
  • Show strong command of MS Office and patent office platforms such as USPTO, WIPO, and EPO.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
