Objectives of the Position:
According to the defined/agreed strategies of the relevant SBU (PMT) product in Korea, focusing on dedicated segments covering TPU sales and application development to achieve business target
Plan, advise and implement sales and marketing activities in Korea TPU industry to achieve agreed sales volumes & margin with profitable concept-based pricing
Collect and analyze the market intelligence of Korean TPU market, and share information on the latest trends, emerging markets, and competitor trend with teams to increase market share and to maximize profits by supporting to set up strategy
Work closely with local business head, segment marketing and technical team (TD/AD/TS) to realize new opportunities in Korea
Communicate, support, and advise for relevant teams with customer knowledge in order to meet customer’s needs & BASF target
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities:
Sales and Key Account Management
Optimize sales volume and improve profitability, assess new business opportunities, and keep relations with local key accounts in film & sheet, hose & tube, FSL for hotmelt & adhesives, auto, infrastructure, and industry market
Implement to achieve annual budget (Volume, Net sales, cCM1, cCM2) for own accounts
Develop new short and mid-term of business opportunities by making strategic pricing and finding new customers
Find share shift opportunities and increase market share by identifying new value propositions and customer pain points
Provides information like market size, business potential (volume, price), product performance, potential customers, customer needs, application examples to teams
Build up strong relationship with all functions of key accounts including higher level of contact
Act as the first customer contact persons to handle customer inquiries for maintain relationship and assess new business opportunities
Maintain and expand Korea TPU business (volume & profit) by sustainable business relationship
Domestic business trip is necessary to manage Korean accounts for customer intimacy
Forecast customer demand accurately and reflect it in the plan, and thoroughly manage inventory to optimize management costs
Effective Non-Conformance Management (NCM) by adequate resolution and closure of all NCM’s
Efficient handling and customer management in terms of claims, issues, and specific requests
Coordinates with local country technical team and resources to conduct customers evaluation, trials, and troubleshooting
Supports NPS survey with key accounts
Application Development
Identifies new product development needs according to customer requirements and communicate effectively to the related counter partner in the organization
Surveying & managing TPU application development for film, sheet, hose, and tube applications with existing portfolio
Identify and implement the technical and product assistance required in the local market
Discover new potential customers & applications and manage projects till commercialization with regional & local technical team
Coordinate the major services ensuring superior customer service and quality
Job Requirements:
Master or bachelor’s degree of chemical engineering, chemistry, polymers, or related fields/business administration
Minimum 8 Years’ experience of thermoplastic elastomer as account manager position or business development position in Korea TPE market
Proven track record of developing and executing successful segment strategies and plans throughout an organization. In-depth knowledge of competitive dynamics and how to integrate segment marketing into the overall business strategy
Effective business reporting / communication in English
Handling and customer management (claims, issues, specific requests, etc.)
Experience of strategic business role in organization
