As a Senior EHS Specialist, you create chemistry by...

  • Leveraging your educational and professional background in Environmental, Health, and Safety, you will offer technical and regulatory expertise to the Savannah, GA site. You will oversee and continuously improve programs in Environmental Compliance, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Security, and Training, ensuring alignment with corporate, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Driving EHS improvements at a fast-paced manufacturing site by utilizing your strong written and verbal communication skills and your passion for enhancing safety culture and environmental performance at the Savannah site.
  • Navigating complex audit, compliance, and regulatory processes with your analytical and problem-solving abilities, while managing contractor and consultant resources to address competing priorities effectively.
  • Supporting BASF’s Responsible Care© Management Systems and contributing to strategic planning and performance reviews, ensuring the integration of EHS principles into all site operations.
  • Ensuring the effective communication and implementation of new and modified internal and external EHS requirements with a results-oriented mindset, making sure all site personnel are informed and compliant.
  • Educating the workforce on existing, new, and evolving EHS requirements and concepts through your proficiency in presenting information and teaching.
  • Collaborating and interfacing with business partners and functional teams, demonstrating your exceptional EHS orientation, and fostering teamwork and cooperation.

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor Degree in EHS, Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial EHS program implementation.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DHS regulations, with demonstrated experience in industrial hygiene monitoring, environmental permitting, and security risk assessments.
  • Have experience in leading and conducting safety or environmental related incident investigations and management of change reviews.
  • Are skilled in developing and delivering EHS training programs across various levels of the organization.
  • Hold or are working toward a professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) – highly desirable.
