System Engineer

Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:

• Create detailed calculations for all materials and services and prepare the technical content to be shared with the customer.
• Support the preparation of formal documentation and design information for the manufacturing of cables, accessories, and cable installation activities.
• Prepare technical documentation for customers and specifications for internal use or subcontractors.
• Act as the primary contact for customers and subcontractors on relevant topics.
• Work on specific aspects that are typically not fully defined during the bidding phase, such as designing special components, defining/coordinating qualification tests, and developing prototypes (optimizing cable and system design to reduce project costs).
• Develop new calculation methods and procedures to determine product and system-related proposals, ensuring that all calculations and work processes comply with the required technical and quality standards and procedures.

You are the right fit if you have/are:

• Master’s degree in engineering, with preference for Electrical, Mechanical or Energy.
• Several years of professional experience in the engineering field, preferably in an EPCI environment.
• Relevant professional experience in HVDC and HVAC cable business, system design and engineering, along with basic knowledge of the cable installation process, is considered a plus.
• Experience in electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical calculation and modelling is considered a plus (e.g. FEM, ATP, EMTP-RV, UFLEX).
• Experience in dealing with relevant national and international standards.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Decision making attitude, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong teamwork skills, results oriented and ambitious mindset.
